Service Policies

In this section, we will explain some of our most important policies regarding work practices. We ensure that our policies keep our envi

SCHEDULING:

We offer our services on a weekly and bi-weekly service schedule. We do not offer "will call service". We normally do not cut on the weekends, this is our family time.

Weekly Service will be conducted on or about every seven days weather permitting. Most of our weekly service subscribers will be scheduled towards the end of the week on either Thursday or Friday.

Bi-weekly service will be conducted on or about every fourteen days weather permitting. Most of our bi-weekly service subscribers will be scheduled toward the beginning of the week on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

BUMP PROCEDURES:

We use our "Bump Procedure" to avoid backups after days we cannot cut. This includes weather days, medical appointments, and other times we do not cut because of unforeseen issues.

So if client A is on a bi-weekly schedule for every other Monday. After reviewing the weather report we can see that the report shows 80% rain for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Because of the rain, we cannot cut lawns on Monday. We will contact every client scheduled for the week and inform them that their service will be bumped back to the next available day. In this case, we will say Tuesday. Friday clients at the end of the week will be moved to the following Monday.

We service 130 clients. This allows us to cut 13 yards daily on a bi-weekly rotation. If it rains on a Monday, it would be impossible to try to cut 26 yards on Tuesday. If it rains two days in a row, it will produce a massive 39-client backlog on Wednesday. By bumping our clients back, no one will have to wait more than two days extra to get their lawns cut. This is where many lawn companies go wrong. We try to keep everyone on a schedule so you can plan when we are coming. This is the most effective way to work around weather delays.

NOTIFICATIONS:

When your yard service is complete, we will let you know the tentative date of your next service. This date will depend on the weekly or biweekly service schedule. We will notify each client on the Saturday before your scheduled appointment. This is another tentative date based on the weather forecast for the upcoming week. If we see the possibility of a weather incident, we will add the weather warning in the notification text.

We will send a second notification the day before your scheduled appointment. This is to remind you to unlock your gates, clean up pet feces, and prepare the yard to be cut. You will receive a third notification when we are heading to your property. If you are not home we will notify you when we enter your property, and when the job is complete and your property is secure.

INVOICES: Invoices are generated and sent to you as soon as the job is completed. The initial invoice may show the amount due. If you have paid ahead your initial invoice may show as a balance but you will receive a second invoice showing "Paid" once the payment information is entered.  Invoices will be sent to your email and by text message. Each client will receive a link to your new client portal along with an initial password. The portal will allow you to see all of your invoices from the year and any payments that are due.

PICTURES AND VIDEO:

As a service to our clients, we will take before and after photos of your property. If you are not home when we arrive, we will send the photos to let you know that the job was completed. We also record the entire process using one of our GOPRO 12 BLACK video cameras. This video is stored on our main server. The videos are important because they allow us to record changes in your lawn during the year. For clients living in rental properties, the videos can prove valuable if a landlord claims that the grass was not maintained to keep a deposit. The videos are timestamped so you can see the entire process from the time we enter your property to the time we leave.

WET GRASS:

We avoid cutting wet grass as much as possible. Wet grass can harm the zero-turn mowers. Wet grass that sticks to the deck will cause rust to form quickly. All of our mowers are set up as mulching machines. Mulch decks will cut the grass, then toss it towards the top of the deck. The grass clippings will fall and as they pass through the spinning blades they are tossed back to the top of the deck again. This process will continue until the clippings are small enough to pass through the blades and fall to the lawn surface. Mulching will provide valuable nutrients for your lawn throughout the year.

Wet grass will not fall from the roof of the deck to be recut into much, instead, it will turn into wet clumps of grass. Wet grass will not cut cleanly, the blades of grass will tear and begin to turn yellow at the tips. This is why many lawns look so bad after they are cut. Wet grass also causes the engines to run at a much higher RPM causing extreme wear on the engine components. If possible we will wait until the lawn is dry before it is cut.

You can read more information about why we mulch instead of side discharge at the ARIENS website:    https://www.ariens.com/en-us/company/blog/316/benefits-of-grass-mulching

YARD PREPARATION:

It is the client's responsibility to ensure that the yard is safe for our team members and our equipment. Trash, animal feces, dog toys, balls, large rocks, bricks, and other items should be picked up before we start working on your property. Clients with pets are responsible for securing pets in a safe location while we are servicing your lawn. The client should check the yard for any obstructions like raised sprinkler heads, and metal stakes. There should be nothing on the lawn that could damage the mowers.

We are not responsible for moving heavy or large items like trampolines, sheds, couches, and large tables. We will move them if we think it is safe to do so, but we do not want to damage your property.

POOLS:

When we are working around in-ground pools we will take our time working around the edge of the pool. If grass clippings fall into the pool, we will do our best to remove them. In-ground pools should run the surface skimmer to remove additional grass clipping from the pool. Above-ground pools are made from materials that can be easily cut with our string trimmer, so we will not use the equipment around the pool. We may use a grass killer to control the grass around the base of the pool.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Ms. Emily Johnson

We were one of Mr. Dugger's first customers. He has serviced our lawn for four years now.  He and his son are awsome. They are always ontime and they comuicate very well. Our lawn is always the best on my block! Mr. Dugger fixed our sprinklers that were spraying in the street for years.  He is so nice and a great father. Tavian went to school with my oldest son. Byron Jr. has taken over and is doing great!

Mr. Frank Austin

Mr. Dugger has done a great job with his son. His son Tavian is a hard working young man. They are always on time and I tip him everytime. My lawn was never green before, but he took the time to educate me on how to care for my lawn properly. It is LUSH now!  Byron Jr. is a hard working young man. He is also very professional and will sonn be as fast as his brother.  They do a great job!

Ms. Julia Cornwall

Mr. Dugger is the most pleasant man I know. Our last two lawncare people were rude and only wanted more money.  I watched him do my neighbor's lawn twice and I had to ask him to do mine. He takes his time and it always look AWSOME!  It's been three years now and our lawn is always beautiful and green. Since he started our yard, he does both houses to my right and the three houses across the street.  They communicate very well. and are always on time.
